Sage 200 v2010 - Available NOW

- Sage 200 v2010 is the latest major release of the Sage 200 Suite.
Information within the suite is more available to users in their day to day roles and additional workspaces and enhanced accessibility will improve the already fantastic user experience that that Sage 200 suite has to offer.
The Sage 200 Suite v2010 release has three key themes:
- Accessibility - Sage 200 Suite v2010 delivers new features such as Sage 200 Mobile and e-mail authorisation for purchase orders, which are the first steps on the journey towards a more flexible, accessible Sage 200 Suite.
- Information Management - The v2010 release brings phase 2 of our ongoing Information Management strategy - helping customers succeed by enabling access to information in the right format at the right time. This release sees the introduction of the new Sage Report Designer, further additional workspaces in the desktop and the new Sage 200 Mobile solution which utilises out of the box workspaces that are rendered on a Blackberry device.
- Customer Satisfaction - We’ve improved usability and customer satisfaction with enhanced project accounting performance, project filtering, improved installation routines and CRM integration enhancements. In addition, we’ve implemented many top wish list requests equating to almost 400 contacts within the wish list, including a number which close some common Sage 50 gaps.

Jonathan Dawkins has been appointed as the new Head of Sales for The Waterdale Group.

The Waterdale Group is very pleased to announce that Jonathan Dawkins has accepted the post of Head of Sales for the Group. Jonathan joined the Waterdale team over 18 months ago to manage the launch of Ardent 24, its hosted managed service offering for the Sage and Microsoft Dynamics AX market place and has been instrumental in delivering a number of successful projects.
Jonathan will be responsible for delivering the Group-wide sales strategy and ambitious sales growth expected in 2011. He comments, "I am very excited to be given this opportunity within The Waterdale Group. Whilst 2009 and the early part of 2010 was challenging, we are already experiencing renewed levels of interest in our range of solutions. I firmly believe that with confidence slowly returning The Waterdale Group is ideally placed to support emerging businesses in their IT strategy decision-making. Jonathan joined the Group with more than 18 years experience in the software industry, with a focus on delivering applications to a hosted model. Prior to joining , Jonathan was a Sales Consultant at retail EPoS systems provider PCMS Group Plc where he spent five years converting qualified prospects into clients. Prior to this, he worked as a Product Sales Manager for 10 years at Open Computing (which then became OpenPSL after being acquired by PSL) managing a team and promoting individual products to new customers.

Intellisell v3.1.0 Released

Intellisell Version 3.1 has now been released; this version features a new improved and faster web interface and full multi-lingual support. The enhanced features and improvements for this release are:
Multiple language support
Full support for all languages is now offered in all parts of the website and products.
Web Optimisation
Intellisell has been streamlined to give faster loading times, and allows faster customisation.
Usability enhancements
Intellisell has been redesigned to be easier to use and incorporates new website ‘assist’ functionality to guide the end user through ordering.
New basket options
There are now more product display options.
New image enlarge option
A fast, new image enlarge script has been added to speed up product review.
Improved browser support
As well as taking advantage of the latest features provided by modern browsers Intellisell now incorporates backwards support of these features.

Bowman International Limited upgrade to Sage 1000 with ADT UK Limited

- Bowman International Limited have upgraded to Sage 1000 with ADT UK. The Sage ERP solution offers Bowman a single, holistic view of their entire business; from the prospecting pipeline, to real time stock availability, through to credit control and customer service and yet retains the familiar functionality users are comfortable with. Furthermore with CRM fully integrated the company will benefit from a more cohesive approach and improved analysis and reporting.
Founded in 1972 as a design and engineering company specialising in Oilite® bearings and high precision sintered components, Bowman International Limited is a longstanding ADT client. The company’s use of both Tetra and Sage Line 200 has been overseen by ADT for many years.
With the purchase of a second company and the development of a manufacturing arm, Bowman’s business model changed. Their Sage Line 200 and disparate ACT! CRM solution was proving restrictive to growth. Happy with the look and feel of Sage and their strong relationship with ADT, Bowman have chosen ADT to implement the new Sage solution.

Van-Line, part of the Volvox Group Ltd, a leading distributor of automotive parts has just purchased Intellisell V3 from ecommerce specialists, Intellisell. With over 5000 lines in stock the company saw an opportunity to increase its audience and provide its clients with an easy online route to its products. Ravensden purchase Intellisell

- Company set to grow online sales
Ravensden Plc, a leading supplier of animal-themed toys and gifts to the leisure, wholesale and promotional markets, have purchased an online ecommerce solution from Intellisell. The solution, designed specifically for the Sage user, will provide an integrated web ordering site that will increase the ease and efficiency of placing orders with the company. Michael Papé, Director comments, "We actually saw a demonstration from another Intellisell customer and knew that we could benefit from this product. We can open up our product range to more companies online and it provides us with the opportunity to up sell and cross sell using visual prompts. I believe that Intellisell offers the functionality and flexibility normally associated with a costly bespoke system at a fraction of the cost and because it is written for Sage, we'll reduce administration-associated order processing and improve customer service levels."

2010 Tax Changes

- Tax Changes from 1st January 2010
Tax changes are being introduced from 1st January 2010 to enable tax authorities to check that VAT is being accounted for correctly by businesses buying or receiving inter-EU supplies of services. This is the first of a series of legal and fiscal changes taking place over the next five years.
Sage will be providing a service pack for Sage 1000, Sage Line 500, Sage Line 200 and CS3, which will be deployed from November 2009 to accommodate these changes. (Alternative arrangements have been made for Sage 200).
These are the four areas that will be covered in the service pack:
EC Sales List Changes
This will extend the EC Sales List report functionality to include designated services in a CSV output file format which can be bulk uploaded to HMRC.
Changes will be made for the following versions:
Sage 1000 - All Versions
Sage Line 500 - All Versions
Sage Line 200 - All Versions
Tetra CS3 Versions 3.0, 3.1 and 4.0
2010 VAT Rate changes
This will enhance the sales order processing invoicing/credit note functionality to ease the change over to the new VAT rate.
Changes will be made for the following versions:
Sage 1000 - All Versions
Sage Line 500 - All Versions
Sage Line 200 - All Versions
Tetra CS3 Versions 3.0, 3.1 and 4.0
VAT changes to Contract Management Module
Changes will be made for the following versions:
Sage 1000 - All Versions
Sage Line 500 - Versions 7.1, 7.0 and 6.0
Intra-EC Invoice changes
This will allow for references to be printed on the Sales Order invoices (for Telesales, Contract Management and Project Billing) when a VAT code has been nominated as either to be 'Zero', 'Exempt' or 'Reverse'.
Changes will be made for the following versions:
Sage 1000 - All Versions
Sage Line 500 - All Versions
Sage Line 200 - All Versions
Tetra CS3 Versions 3.0, 3.1 and 4.0
The service pack is scheduled for release in November and between now and then, rather than risk giving you the wrong information, we will be using the time to consider further the implications and will keep you updated. Please look out for email bulletins entitled 2010 Tax Changes.
We will also report back on the impact to third party applications and whether any additional work will be required.

- As the economic downturn continues, an increasing number of organisations are dramatically cutting back on their IT spending budgets. However, one area which looks set to thrive throughout the coming year is the managed services market. As Jonathan Dawkins, Managed Services Consultant predicts, hosting a managed service is likely to be one of the areas which survives the budget slashing and will really come of age throughout 2009.
